You know how sometimes, your high school crush grows up to be an insanely famous movie star? Okay, probably not. But I do.

Back in high school, Trip Wiley’s fanbase only encompassed the denizens of the nothing little suburb of Norman, New Jersey.

Ten years later, all that is about to change.

In the summer of 2000, Layla Warren is enjoying her career as a journalist in New York City (well, sort of), while Trip spends most of his time grabbing Hollywood by the balls. In the days before what will turn out to be his skyrocketing fame, they’ll find themselves confronted with some life-altering choices.

I enjoyed the first book in the series by T Torrest so much that I immediately bought the second installment. Now, I can't wait to read the final book!

What I really enjoy about the author's approach to the characters is that they are real. There's none of the normal movie star trope where the hottie grows up to be kind of an *ssh*le but sees his high school crush and realizes he can't be without her. The scenarios in this book are both realistic and heartfelt. Layla and Trip have depth, internally and externally express true emotions and respond to their strange situation like normal, everyday people - not like the mythical perfect characters in most books.

In the first book, we see the realistic creation of their companionship. This book brings them together again when both of them are engaged to other people. Trip wants to end his to be with Layla, but sensible Layla isn't so sure that Trip wants her long-term. Does he want her long-term or just for one night? Layla ultimately makes her decision - one that drives them apart again. At the end, Layla packs her bags and is willing to fight for true love - and Trip - doing whatever it takes to make things right.

I hope they can work it out, because I just bought the final installment for kindle! Gasp!
