He’s thirty-eight. I’m twenty-three.
He speaks Spanish. I speak English.
He lives in Spain. I live in Canada.
He dresses in thousand-dollar suits. I’m covered in tattoos.
He’s married and has a five-year old daughter.
I’m single and can’t commit to anyone or anything.
Until now.Because when they say you can’t choose who you fall in love with, boy ain’t that the damn truth.
I read this in my "Sexy Foreign Men" reading phase after loving Maggie & Samir together from I See London & London Falling by Chanel Cleeton. I wasn't disappointed!
Vera Miles decided to spend her summer in Spain teaching conversational English to businessmen and women while enjoying free room and board at an isolated resort. She figured she'd work on her tan, meet new people, and enjoy the culture. She never expected to fall in love.
Mateo Casalles is everything Vera isn't: a Spanish married father honing his English skills. He's an important businessman, and he's certainly not looking for a young twenty-year-old Canadian to charm and delight him, nor change his life forever.
This is the story of the wrong people falling in love with one another at the wrong time. But who says it has to be wrong? Not me! Loved the book minus a small snafu near the end of the book when I got a tad bit annoyed. If you can gloss over that and get to the happy ending, the read is worth it!
